The Borough Administrator acts
as liaison between the governing body and the departments, boards and officials of the borough government and other boards and bodies
carrying out municipal functions. He or she is also the agent for the mayor and
council.
Duties of the Administrator
Integrates
departments with
the general administration in carrying out municipal functions and the policies of the
borough council,
Supervises administrative
departments
Oversees expenses
of each department,
Prepares the budget for the
consideration of the borough council,
Reviews all disbursements
and processes all bills
and vouchers for payment, prior to approval by the borough council,
Prepares the agenda borough
council meetings,
Advises the borough council on all background matters as an aid
to the establishment of policy and the carrying out of the functions of municipal
government, and advises the borough council and other municipal officials on matters
affecting the public interest,
Receives distribute and follow up requests for information and
complaints from citizens on all manner of problems, and keeps the borough council informed
on such matters,
Edits and compiles releases of information for the public and
the press as directed by the borough council, and
Assigns office personnel to the
performance of various departmental duties.
