The Roseland Free
Public Library has joined BCCLS! Have you? Even though we will still
be using the same library cards, each resident must be
re-registered into the BCCLS system. You can begin this
process by visiting
www.bccls.org. In the top left-hand corner of the
screen are the words “Apply for a Library Card Online.”
Follow the instructions and fill out the application for
each member of your family. Then, bring your proof of
residency and library card to the Library. The staff
will complete the process and affix a green Open
Borrowing sticker to your card. Don’t have a computer
at home? Just bring your proof of residency and library
card to the Library and the staff will do the rest.
Don’t have a card yet? We are happy to give you one –
just bring proof of residency.
Your barcode number and
pin number will give you access to the rich resource of
online databases including the EBCSO databases, the
Literary Resource Center from Infotrac and the
Historical New York Times back to 1851. No, that’s not a
typo, the New York Times back to 1851!
After your library card
has been re-registered you will be able to request
materials online to be delivered to the Roseland Free
Public Library. You may return borrowed materials to
any library in the statewide delivery system. Most of
the 5 million items in the BCCLS catalog, whether book,
audiobook, CD, or video can be requested. The New York
Times bestsellers and high demand items are typically
provided by your home library.
In 2008, Roseland Free
Public Library’s holdings will be totally merged into
the BCCLS catalog.
