February - Early April
Each
year tax-aid counselors
are available at the Roseland Free Public Library
to assist
individuals with the preparation of federal and state income tax forms.
Sponsored by the AARP, counselors have been trained by the
Internal Revenue Service and the New Jersey Division of Taxation.
There is no charge for this service and all consultations
are strictly confidential. Participants
must bring all necessary documents, as well as copies of tax filings
from the previous year.
Both spouses must be present for
preparation of a joint tax return.
Those participating in this program must fill out the
AARP Tax-Aide Intake and Interview Form before the appointment.
The Library also has a variety
of Federal and State Tax forms available for distribution.
The Internal Revenue Service and the New Jersey Division of
