The purpose of the Office
of Emergency Management (OEM) is to plan and coordinate
the borough's response to disasters or unusual conditions which exceed the
borough's normal ability to respond. A disaster can result from either natural or man-made
actions and must be a threat to the health and safety of resources of the residents of one
or more towns.
Where appropriate, the OEM has authority
to recommend that a state of emergency be declared. This enables the borough
to obtain county, state, and/or federal resources to aid the people of Roseland. In
the event of a disaster, Police Headquarters will become the central
"Communication Center".
