Roseland
Leaf Pickup Program
The Department of Public Works will
commence leaf collection on all Borough owned streets
beginning in October and ending in December.
This typically allows for at least four (5) pickups on each street spaced
out over the seven week period.
The majority of leaves will be collected
by a vacuum type machine and should be placed in the curb area of the
road in front of your residence. The Borough requests that
residents take care not to include stones, brush, grass cuttings, or
other debris in the leaf piles as such items cause damage to the
equipment. Leaves should not be placed over storm drains/catch
basins.
For those residents living on COUNTY
roads, the Borough has arranged to provide for free, twenty-four (24)
large paper bags per year. Additional bags are available and sold
at cost for $.30 each and can be purchased at the Public Works Office,
300 Eagle Rock Avenue, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Bagged leaves will be collected on each
Tuesday through December Residents are
reminded that an appointment is necessary for collection. Contact the Public Works
Department at (973) 226-6565 anytime prior to 4:00pm on Mondays for
Tuesday pickup. Please note the change in
schedule in December due to the holiday and call by Friday, December 22,
2006 to schedule an appointment.
ONLY LEAVES IN THE PAPER RECYCLABLE
BAGS WILL BE COLLECTED.
Also, any resident on a Borough owned
road may purchase and use the bags if they prefer that method rather
than raking their leaves into the curb area, but again an appointment is
necessary.
