ROSELAND GOVERNMENT | BOROUGH FORM OF GOVERNMENT
 
Roseland is governed under the Borough form of municipal government. The government consists of a Mayor and a Borough Council comprising six council members, with all positions elected at large. A Mayor is elected directly by the voters to a four-year term of office. The Council consists of six members elected to serve three-year terms on a staggered basis, with two seats coming up for election each year.
   
     
Roseland is part of New Jersey's 27th Legislative District and is in the Eleventh Congressional District.

New Jersey's Eleventh Congressional District, covering western portions of Essex County, all of Morris County, and sections of Passaic County, Somerset County and Sussex County, is represented by Rodney Frelinghuysen (R, Harding Township). New Jersey is represented in the Senate by Frank Lautenberg (D, Cliffside Park) and Bob Menendez (D, Hoboken).

The 27th District of the New Jersey Legislature is represented in the State Senate by Richard Codey (D, Roseland) and in the Assembly by Mila Jasey (D, South Orange) and John F. McKeon (D, West Orange).[14] The Governor of New Jersey is Chris Christie (R, Mendham). The Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey is Kim Guadagno (R, Monmouth Beach).
