Position:  Essex County District Board Worker
Service: General Election Day - November
Pay:  $200.00 per election
$  12.50 additional for pickup or return of  Poll Books and Election Supplies
Eligibility: Must be a registered voter of Essex County
A min of 4 Board Workers are assigned to each district,
2 Democrats and 2 Republicans. Some districts require 2 extra board workers if their are 2 machines, some require Bi-lingual  speaking workers.
Training:  By law, must attend training classes once ever 2 years.
Classes last approx 1 and 1/2 hours and are held 2 times a year in various Essex County locations
Job Description:  Workers must report at 5:15am on Election Days to prepare the area for voting. Polls must open by 6:00am and workers will process voters until closing, close the Polls, tally votes and return materials to their appropriate places. .  
Location:  Various according to where help is needed or where a vacancy exists. Consideration is given to place people in or close to the town in which they live.
