Borough Seal

The Borough of Roseland’s Municipal Youth Guidance Council is once again accepting applications for its annual scholarship program.

Graduating Roseland Class of 2020 seniors, attending public or private school, are eligible to receive a one time $750.00 scholarship to recognize and congratulate the senior whose community service best reflects the importance of selflessness, volunteerism, and dedication to Roseland and our surrounding community areas.

"The Borough is proud to continue the tradition of this scholarship,” said Mayor James R. Spango. “I thank the members of the Municipal Youth Guidance Council for their dedication to the Borough. Best of luck to all who apply."

"Over the years, Roseland high school seniors in public and private school have committed themselves to community service projects,” explained Councilwoman Michele Tolli. “By doing so, they build character and self-esteem while taking pride in their hometown. It is an honor to win such a scholarship."

Applicants must write an essay, no longer than one page in length, describing their community service activities, participation in those activities, how they have volunteered overall in the community, and also describe what their community service has taught them. A resume, which should include the dates of service and a references page, as well as two signed letters of recommendation from a community member, teacher, coach, advisor, etc. are also required as part of the application.

Interested applicants should be sure to postmark their applications by June 22, 2020 and mail them to either Eileen Masone, 3 Morgantine Road, Roseland, NJ 07068 or Leslie Klaff, 10 Birch Drive, Roseland, NJ 07068.
