The Public Works department handles maintenance and repair of borough roads and buildings, coordinates garbage and recycling schedules, and handles special pickup of branches, leaves, bulk and metal goods for the community.

Essex County's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day
Saturday, October 1st from 8:30am to 4 pm
125 Fairview Avenue, Cedar Grove (next to the old Hospital Center)

Essex County residents must show proof of residency at the site.

Essex County's Recycling Day Computer & Electronics
Saturday, October 15th from 9 an to 3 pm
125 Fairway Avenue, Cedar Grove (next to the old Hospital Center)
Give you olc and unwanted computers and electronic equipment a second life by recycling them.
Essex County residents must show proof of residency at the site.

Standard Garbage Pickup: Monday and Thursday

Garbage may be put at curbside after 7:00pm on the night prior to your regularly scheduled pickup day.
NOTIFICATIONS: Correction to the Garbage and Recycling Schedule: If a Holiday falls on a Friday, collection  will be on the Saturday immediately following the holiday not Monday as indicated on the schedule.
Mission Statement: The mission of the Roseland Department of Public Works is to maintain, repair, and wherever possible, improve the infrastructure of our community. This would include the municipal roads, sidewalks, parking lots, parks, trees, buildings, sewers and also maintain the municipal fleet and to do this in the most efficient manner as possible. This department will strive to continue to provide the high level of service Roseland residents expect and deserve from their Public Works Department.
