Essex County based Audible, the world’s largest producer and provider of spoken-word entertainment and audiobooks, is offering a free, unlimited streaming of various programs during the Coronavirus outbreak. The Borough was notified about the service and would like to let all residents know about this opportunity, especially given that all residents and children are asked to stay home.

"Keeping to our founding belief that the spoken word can be inspiring and transporting in deeply intimate ways, we have created Stories.Audible.com—a place where anyone, in any country, can enjoy unlimited streaming of hundreds of titles for kids and families for free,” Audible explains in their press release. “The stories were hand-picked by our Audible editors and offer a mix of education, entertainment, and general-interest titles, from the classic to the contemporary, with a focus on stories that are suitable for children.”

Roseland Mayor James R. Spango and Council President Christopher Bardi both expressed appreciation for the action of Audible in making the streaming service available during this difficult time.

"We would like to thank Essex County based Audible for providing this free service to the community,” said Mayor Spango and Council President Bardi in a joint statement. “This service offers a great option to keep our children entertained and enriched especially while they attend school remotely. Thank you to the office of Essex County Executive Joseph DiVencenzo for sharing this with the Borough."
