Official Statement on Noecker Message - March 12, 2020

The following message was transmitted to the Noecker Community tonight stating “After consultation with the Roseland Health Dept, Noecker School is OPEN Friday March 13.” In an effort to be transparent, please know that the decision to Open or Close Noecker lies with the administration of the school, not the Borough. Roseland’s Health Dept., which is a shared service with East Hanover, did not make recommendations to the Noecker Administration to Open or Close the school.

However, the Health Officer has contacted the Noecker Administration multiple times this week to keep them informed on the status of our Borough, as it relates to COVID-19 so they can make an informed decision.

The Borough is committed to the safety of our residents, while ensuring essential services are maintained throughout this public health crisis.
