Roseland Police Honor Two Retirees With A Clap-Out

The Borough of Roseland, NJ Police Department honored two retiring police officers, Lt. Brian Maglio and Sgt. David Courter, with a clap-out yesterday afternoon in front of the police station.

Lt. Brian Maglio served on the force for 26 ½ years of service and prior to entering law enforcement, Lt. Maglio served in the United States Air Force. After serving in the Air Force, Lt. Maglio was hired as a Police Officer in Morris Plains for just under 2 years before being hired as a Roseland Police Officer in 1998. Through the years, he made his way through the ranks becoming a TAC Officer, Arson Investigator, Internal Affair Officer and Special Event Coordinator for the department.

photoSgt. David Courter served on the force for almost 28 ½ years with the Borough. He served as the head of the Traffic Bureau and was also a Crash Investigator, Emergency Medical Technician, and Vehicle Fleet Manager for many years. Sgt. Courter was also voted in as Police Local 81 President for multiple terms. Sgt. Courter also was a dedicated member of the Police Unity Tour throughout his career in law enforcement.

The Borough and the Roseland Police Department wish Lt. Maglio and Sgt. Courter the best in retirement and thank them for their many years of service to protect and serve the Roseland community.
