What If I Need Additional Food Assistance?

NJ SNAP is New Jersey’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. SNAP provides food assistance to families with low incomes to help you buy groceries in most food retail stores and some farmers markets. Eligibility is set by several factors, such as income and resources.

Applying for SNAP can be confusing. A SNAP Navigator can help you apply and help you keep your benefits so you can get the food assistance you need.

  • SNAP Navigators will walk you through:
  • How SNAP works;
  • eligibility requirements;
  • what documents you need to apply;
  • the application process, and;
  • how to keep your SNAP benefits.

They also can answer questions and correct misconceptions about SNAP to help you decide if SNAP is right for you. This help is free and confidential. Residents can call the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (the SNAP Navigator for this area) at 908-838-4831 or email SNAPOutreach@cfbnj.org.
