Sox in a Box - 2021

Socks

Sox in a Box is the latest project spearheaded by the Roseland Junior Woman's Club (RJWC) along with the help of Roseland Municipal Youth Guidance high school students. New and gently worn socks were collected and sorted for adults, teens and children from February 1st through February 22nd. Approximately 1,800 pairs of new socks and 300 gently worn pairs of socks were collected for those living in shelters and on the streets.

All the socks were delivered to the Franciscan Friary in Newark and also to the Sisters of Mercy (Mother Theresa's order) also in Newark. Both groups will distribute the socks to shelters and to those living on the streets.

"Socks are the most needed and asked for item" said Michele Tolli, Roseland Councilwoman and RJWC President. "The generosity of Roseland and West Essex residents was overwhelming and we thank everyone for their donations."
