The Sts. Nicholas, Constantine, and Helen Greek Orthodox Church will host a Community Blood Drive on Wednesday, November 11 from 1pm to 7pm sponsored by the New York Blood Center. While the Borough is not sponsoring the event, Roseland is cognizant about the low blood stock in our area and across the country, mainly due to COVID-19, and is encouraging residents to consider participating in the blood drive.

“Blood depositories are low and donating blood is always essential especially at a time like this,” said Mayor James R. Spango. “We thank the Greek Orthodox Church and the New Jersey Blood Services for hosting this event and thank all the residents who participate.”

Residents wanting to donate blood should be aware of the following rules and protocols:

  • Donors must wear a mask or face covering
  • Temperatures will be taken
  • Donors must be 14 days symptom free if recovered from COVID-19
  • You may not donate if you have had a positive diagnostic test or experienced symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days
  • You may not donate if you are currently on self-quarantine restrictions.

Those wanting to donate are encouraged to make an appointment online by going to http://donate.nybc.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/284998 or by calling 917-699-9073 as soon as possible.
