Hydrant Flushing - Starting Week of April 29, 2024

Hydrant

Be advised that hydrant flushing is scheduled to occur next week starting on Monday, April 29 until Friday, May 3. Areas on or near Laurel Ave, Ridge Road, Becker Farm Road, Beechtree Road, and Cedar Lane will be affected.

If you notice a temporary drop in water pressure and you reside on or near these areas, do not be alarmed as any reduced water flow is temporary. However, if you notice a drop in water pressure for an extended period of time or do not live on or near these streets, please alert the Public Works Department by calling 973-226-6565.

Hydrant flushing helps to flush sediments from water main pipes, enhancing water quality, helps to determine if there are any weak pipes, fittings, or valves that needs to be replaced, and also ensures that hydrants and valves are working properly and that water flow is strong enough for firefighting efforts.
