Roseland Police Apprehend Three Individuals with Stolen Vehicle

The Borough of Roseland, NJ would like to commend the Police Department on their outstanding work this past weekend in apprehending three subjects after allegedly stealing a motor vehicle.

At approximately 2:30am on Sunday, the Police Department received a call of a suspicious vehicle on Monroe Avenue. The police responded and found an unoccupied black SUV with a damaged tire. Officers checked the registration and found that the vehicle was stolen out of Hillside, NJ. The police dispatch was then alerted to a report of three males standing outside of a resident’s home wearing all black attire with ski masks on. Sergeant Fernandez and Officer Bellantoni responded to that location with the assistance of Essex Fells Police and Livingston Police. The individuals then fled on foot as the officers arrived. The officers pursued the individuals on foot and were able to apprehend them after a short foot pursuit.

Of the three subjects captured, one was 18 years old from Metuchen, NJ, the second was 18 years old out of Irvington, NJ, and the third was 20 years old out of Newark, NJ. The individuals were charged with receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and resisting arrest.
