The Roseland Police Department, in conjunction with the Roseland Governing Body, the Roseland Police Foundation, and the JRS Civic Association, held a toy drive this past holiday season to spread joy to children in need here in Roseland. Over 300 toys were collected and distributed to all students attending the ARC School on Harrison Avenue with additional toys being donated to special needs children at the Beth Israel and University hospitals in Newark.

"It is wonderful to see the Roseland community once again come together and help their fellow neighbors and those in need here in Essex County by donating toys to those less fortunate," said Roseland Mayor James R. Spango.

The Department would like to thank everyone who donated gifts and donated funds to purchase toys for the toy drive and the various businesses and organizations that allowed collection boxes in their establishments. That list includes Marra’s Restaurant, Jack’s Exxon, the Roseland Free Public Library, La Pizza, Roseland-Caldwell VFW, Jim Johnston’s, Noecker School, 105 Eisenhower Parkway.

The Police Department plans on doing the same toy drive collection in 2024, so anyone interested in taking part in this effort should contact the Roseland Police Department for additional information.
