4/28/23 Update: Due to the inclement weather today, please be advised that the Pitch, Hit & Run Competition will NOT be held today and will use the rain date of May 5. If you have additional questions, call the Recreation office at 973-403-6899.


The annual Pitch, Hit & Run Competition will once again take place at the Harrison Complex at 19 Harrison Avenue with Thomas J. O’Beirne Field hosting baseball and Harrison Field hosting softball. All Roseland Resident and area Non-Resident Boys & Girls, ages 7 to 14, are able to participate.

The competition will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023. The competition is “FREE” but you must register!

Trophies are awarded to Overall, Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions. First Place finishers will have an opportunity to advance to Sectional, Team, and National Competition.

  • Pitch - 6 attempts to hit the Strike Zone, 
  • Hit – 3 swings in attempt to hit the ball for distance and accuracy &
  • Run - measured speed in a sprint from start point to home plate for a total distance of 120 ft.  

NO ONSITE OR SAME DAY REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ALLOWED. A COPY OF PARTICIPANT’S BIRTH CERTIFICATE MUST BE ON FILE. Please call the Recreation Department to see if a copy of your birth certificate is on file. For more information please call 973-403-6850.
