Roseland Congratulates Basketball Champions

The Borough of Roseland, NJ wishes to congratulate three youth basketball teams who were named League Champions last night, March 6, 2023.

The West Essex Boys Freshman Recreation Basketball League (3rd and 4th Grade) were awarded the championship for their league as the Roseland Mavericks defeated Essex Fells by a score of 31 to 24.

The West Essex Girls Junior Recreation Basketball League (5th and 6th Grade) were awarded the championship for their league as the Roseland Dream claimed victory over Fairfield by a score of 16 to 10. Basketball

The West Essex Girls Senior Recreation Basketball League (7th and 8th Grade) were also awarded the championship for their league as the Roseland Fever triumphed over Fairfield by a score of 37-19.

“We often honor youth sports teams at our council meetings on winning their respective championship, but to have three teams on the same night, on the same court, in back-to-back games all win championships is rare,” said Roseland Mayor James R. Spango.

The Borough is proud of the achievement and success that these three teams have had this season and hope that they and their families are proud of the outcome their hard work has afforded them.
