Roseland Expands SCRAM Program in 2022 to Offer Full-Day Option

The Borough of Roseland, NJ has offered a successful and well-loved summer camp program, SCRAM, for many years. Now, the pleas of parents across Roseland have been heard – Full Day SCRAM will be launched this summer.

“Full day SCRAM was a vision we had for our Roseland families when I first took office,” said Roseland Mayor James R. Spango. “Unfortunately delayed by COVID, we are proud to now offer full day camp for our residents at an extremely affordable rate!”

SCRAM is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 27, 2022 and end on Friday, August 5, 2022. There is a set maximum participant number of 135 for both the morning session and the new afternoon session. The morning session will go from 8:30am to 12:30pm and the afternoon session will go from 12:30pm to 3:30pm. Drop off for the morning and afternoon sessions will occur at Bond Force Memorial Park. Pick-up for the morning session will take place at Bond Force Memorial Park but the afternoon session pick-up will occur at Noecker School. Registration for SCRAM will take place through Community Pass. Kids attending the morning session and those attending full day will be asked to bring a bagged lunch with them.

The Recreation Department is also looking for additional staff members to join its ranks to bolster the morning session and also for the new afternoon session. Individuals who are a high school junior and older are able to apply for several paid positions, while younger residents who are in their sophomore year of high school are eligible to apply for a volunteer junior counselor position. Registration is NOW OPEN and can be done through the Borough's CommunityPass website.


Paid positions available (8:30am - 3:30pm for 6 weeks between June 27 and August 5) include:

  • Director - $7,500
  • 2 Assistant Directors - $6,000 each
  • Counselors - $13 an hour (morning and/or afternoon sessions)
